Le Creuset v. Martha Stewart Dutch Ovens

I have both and over the years have determined that Le Creuset dutch ovens are worth every penny. Martha Stewarts' dutch ovens have quickly chipped and have rust around the screws for the knob. Never again.

Quality vs junk, it's as simple as that. I have yet to buy something made in China that I could say I actally felt good about the pruchase. I try very hard to buy USA or EU products when at all possible. It ends up cheaper in the long run. I couldn't agree with you more.

Basically, it is France vs. China or Class vs. Mass. Going from K-Mart to Macys wasn't really a big jump. Le Creuset from France is as good as it gets.

I agree. Le Creuset is an investment but they last forever. We bought ours at Winners/HomeSense for a pretty good price (~$150CAD). We've had it for 5 years and it's still gorgeous as ever. I also bought a KitchenAid dutch oven and I always burn things in it because the bottom is just not as heavy.
