new error message

LNG212 Jun 29, 2011 09:58 AM

when I click on this post from the Manhattan board:
http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/792935
(Note: I cannot get to that post; I just copied the link from a right click menu so I hope that works

)

I get this (new to me) error message:

<<<Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@chow.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log. >>>>

Thanks for looking into it since I can't see that particular post.

    Are you still unable to view the thread? We're in the midst of a major software upgrade and have been seeing this error on occasion- we're already working on some of the underlying problems this has caused. However, when these issues do pop up, a refresh or two *should* get you around the problem. Hopefully we'll have the root cause addressed before you need that workaround.

    In the mean time, thank you for the error report, and for your patience!

      Actually it was a little weird. Once someone had replied on the thread I was able to open it. But as long as there were 0 replies, I kept getting that error no matter how many times I refreshed or went to a different page in between. Perhaps the reply-thing didn't have anything to do with it and it was just a matter of timing. But that coincidence seemed odd to me!

      Thanks for the workaround and for looking into things.

        That's definitely odd. Are you able to open other threads with 0 responses? This for example-

        If not, could you please note the browser version and operating system you're using when this happens?

          That one opened just fine. Maybe was simply a matter of timing. Sorry I'm not more help here. (Oh and I'm using firefox on a windows xp system.)

            No worries, there's a lot of weirdness going on as we work through the transition. If the issue starts to become persistent, please let us know.
