Sushi Near Cedars?

My wife is having our second baby in 2 weeks @ Cedar's. She's dying for sushi, thought about surprising her once the baby is born with lunch. Any good places close to the hospital?

Haru Sushi Cafe is on San Vicente, south of Third Street. Parking is easy, they're open for lunch, and the food is terrific. Congratulations!

If you want rolls to go and such, sure, Haru. But I wouldn't bother with anything less than Kiyokawa down the street (especially because we assume she really is dying for sushi), or Nishimura around the corner.

Our first raw fish meal back was a 2 hour feast that coincided with Mako's anniversary celebration in Little Tokyo. It was a no holds bar omakase joust. Figured with all the intangible money we saved by not doing sashimi for 6 months, a $200 bill for 2 was almost reasonable.

Izaka-ya by Katsuya is on 3rd near Cedars and always pleases in my opinion. I'm actually a couple of months from a baby delivery at Cedars myself and that just might be my 1st request as well!

It certainly looks good (I found a website and added it to the place link) and has some interesting food choices (as most Izakaya do here in LA) but if the OP and his wife are really looking to scratch their sushi itch this won't be the place for that particular mission.
