Wedding venue for 270 people - October..

A friend of mine is looking for a wedding venue in Toronto area (prefers downtown core) and I mentioned I would post on here to see if any CHers had opinions. I think she already searched through old threads on here. She is thinking of the following (her comments in brackets):

Delta Chelsea
Sheraton (nice ballroom but boring normal menu, upgraded menu pricey)
Intercontinental (they don't make espresso... it is a half Italian wedding.. so might be an issue)
Four Seasons ( too expensive)
Metropolitan on Chestnut (in the running but may need a seperate room for dancing)
A Clublink golf course (station greek in Gormley)...

Sounds like she wants to avoid the standard banquet halls in Woodbridge/etc.

I think her friends recently did a wedding at Liberty Grande so she wants to avoid it too.

Any suggestions I can pass on her way?

(and yes, that is October this year, she recently got engaged).

The Ritz is lovely but will likely be the same price or higher than the Four Seasons.

The Carlu is one of the most beautiful venues in the city but pricey.

If she likes an industrial feel the Fermenting Cellar at the Distillery is my pick but she must be prepared to bring everything into the venue.

I think the DX would work in terms of the size of her party but it may be a wee bit tight.

It looks like she is considering hotels so I would add the Sutton Place top floor ballroom to her list. It is a little old school for my taste but if she is considering the others this would be nicer than the Delta or Sheraton but not as nice at the Four Seasons.

DX fits 230 with a dance floor, and bringing in any outside caterer is expensive in general for all no-in-house-catering venues. Same with 99 Sudbury, though they hold more people they are also very expensive because of no in-house catering.

Even with in-house catering at Fermenting Cellar, still very expensive.

Sheraton Centre's Dominion Ballroom is lovely, just as nice as the Four Seasons IMO, but around $180 per person taxes included for non-sustainable menu. Four Seasons is about $200 all inclusive with sustainable menu. Intercontinental on Front holds up to 300 at about $170 per person but not as nice overall (lower ceilings, no chandeliers, but really good food.) The Metropolitan on Chestnut behind City Hall is also a great option, again for $180 per person and very small and low ceilings but claim to fit 300 with no dance floor, and their catering kitchen is the same as their 4-diamond restaurant kitchen so they pretty much guarantee excellent food.

Trump starts bookings November 21 onwards. Ritz is available October 1st but same price as Four Seasons and Fairmont Royal York.
