Quince and Medlar [London]

Not linked but given they are both types of fruit I thought I'd join them up!

Has anyone been to either? Any views?

Quince is Silvena Rowe and the reviews I've seen have not been good; Medlar is an ex Chez Bruce chef and seems to be getting better reports.

  1. I had an excellent lunch at Medlar a few weeks ago. The sommelier is particularly good and recommended a Catalan wine which was very nice. The stand-out dish was a sea trout tartare that the OH had.

    1. I've been to Quince. I enjoyed the food, especially the grilled chicken with harissa and shoestring fries, but I thought it was a bit overpriced. Probably a 3 out of 5. I'd probably only go back if someone else was paying!

      1. There's an article on Medlar in this weekend's Financial Times.
