Took vacation in Italy a few weeks ago and had the most amazing snack in Venice - ball of fried dough with ham and cheese inside. Completely forgot to get the name. Any ideas? Thanks!

Don't know the name but it sounds delicious. For the employee meal at the restaurant I worked at, I used to make ham, swiss, mushrooms and onions in a puff pastry, served on saffron rice, smothered with a sauce mornay. It was more delicious than most of the "fancy" stuff on the menu.
