Where can I get Montreal-style coleslaw in Austin?

I've been really missing what I would call "Montreal-style" coleslaw, as the kind I am thinking of is NOT creamy, but tangy with vinegar instead. I used to love eating Moishes coleslaw on a hot summer day, which you can buy throughout Ontario and Quebec, but not at all in the U.S. it seems. Any suggestions on where I can find a comparable coleslaw here in Austin?

P.S. If this helps, a Montreal Chowhounder was trying to reverse-engineer the recipe, and asked someone to post the Moishes coleslaw ingredients, in order, which were:

Cabbage, vinaigrette (water, sugar, vinegar, oil, salt, garlic, herbs, spices), carrots

Thanks!

The Frisco Shop serves a vinegar based cole-slaw. It comes w/ "The Regular" (6 oz.) Top Chop't steak, which is one of my favorite meals in my neighborhood. It's on Burnet about halfway between Koenig and Anderson.

Ruby's BBQ at 29th & Guadalupe has a vinaigrette cole slaw.

That was the first place that popped into my head as well. Doesn't Salt Lick also do that?
The only time I had SL's it was so dry it was hard to tell what it was. but I was told it was a vinaigrette ;-)

I make my slaw at home with 1 part vinagrette (usually Girard's Champagne Dressing) to 1 part mayo.

Salt Lick does, and it has been good the two times I've tried it this summer. It isn't swimming in juice or anything - I actually liked the way it was tossed.

sw - do you Girard's "light" or the regular. I actually like the light version better.

I'll try the light version. Salad dressing and ice cream are the only "lite" products of regular versions I'll eat (and you really have to look at the fine print on ice cream before you buy it nowadays - if you want the full fat versions).

It's going to be hard to beat Girards regular champagne dressing though. I've been using it for a couple decades - mostly on salads, not on cole slaw.

Yeah - try it and let me know. I'll try the "heavy" version and let you know. I like to mix it with Oka's Miso in salads, but mostly, I like it alone.

My HEB has cut, but not fully-prepared slaw. I'll try your version of that.

there is actually a combo deal this week, where you get some coleslaw dressing for free when you buy the pre-shredded slaw mix.
they were out of both at my local store as a result.

they serve this at catfish parlor, which is the only thing i like.
they also sell jars of the vinaigrette so you can make your own at home.
it is very refreshing, especially when it's so hot out.

Haven't ever heard it called Montreal-style...but it's common enough that I have heard people ask whether your coleslaw was mayonnaise or vinegar based. I'm pretty sure Foodheads does a vinegar-based cole slaw.

I just had some from Foodheads - it was definitely mayonnaisey.
