Party location near Flemington

KathyH Jun 27, 2011 07:32 AM

Looking for a restaurant or hall to have a small birthday party celebration. Probably no more than 30 people. People will be coming from Toms River, Somerville, and Stockton. Guest of honor lives near Stockton.

Ideally would like a place with a private room and if BYO is even better as that way we can bring our own wine and beer.

Not particular about the type of food, just want good food. Also not extremely expensive would help too.

Any ideas?

There are not too many options in Flemington. The only one that I can think of is Matt's Red Rooster. The food is great, it is BYO, and they can probably accomodate you upstairs. In Bridgewater, Maggianos definitely can accomodate you, and the food is OK. You can also try the Stockton Inn.

I believe Capuano's has a private room but I've never been there - only going on what I've heard from others, who seemed happy with the food. I believe it's also a BYO and moderately priced.

Thanks for the replies. In the meantime I was talking to the other person who is actually throwing the party and she thought that maybe instead of doing it at a restaurant we have a home party. I find if you have a group at a restaurant you really only visit with the people in your immediate seating area. A house party could be more fun.
My next question will be on caterers but I will post that request separately.
        thanks again,

This has been my experience as well. I hope you have fun at the party - wherever it ends up! :)
