Looking to buy bison in the Northshore area
Anyone know where we can buy Bison in the northshore area. We currently buy from Whole Foods market but their choices are limited and availability spotty. We have found a number of online but shipping is expensive and demands large quantities. Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

You can get it at Zier's in Wilmette. They carry game, primarily frozen. They usually have American Wagyu beef, buffalo, bison, rabbit, venison, elk, and quail. They also do their own smoking (we often get smoked chicken breast) and have terrific prime grade beef (great place to buy a standing rib roast). www.ziersprime.com

nsxtasy, thanks. I'm not surprised you're the first to respond - your posts are always quite helpful. I called Blackwing meat this morning (they wholesale bison and many other game meats) and they referred me to Woodman's Foods in Carpentersville. Not Northshore but we do drive out that way frequently. I'll check both and any other suggestions.
