Where to go to make the best Seafood Platter?

I need to prepare a beautiful seafood platter for 12-15 dinner guests...where should I go to purchase fresh seafood?

Oysters
Shrimp or Prawns
Littleneck Clams, Mussels, or Cocktail Claws
Crab Dip
Poached or Smoked Salmon
Steamed lobster

Citarella has been famous for their top quality fish and seafood for years. I would probably have them prepare the platter. Whole Foods can also do that, and Zabar's as well.

Zabar's...hmmm...don't think so. They don't sell fresh fish, only smoked fish + herrings.

Fairway will probably be a better place.
      There or Citarella.

I would go to Citarella -- have put my own together from there in the past. Not a fan of the seafod at Whole Foods, and I believe it is correct that Zabar's doesn't sell fresh seafood, though Eli's on the UES does -- for a price.

Edit -- also not a huge fan of the seafood at Fairway -- nothing wrong with it, but I always go next door to Citarella instead.

Dorian's is my favorite fishmonger in the city -- expensive, but they do deliver.

The Lobster Place in Chelsea Mkt is probably a very good bet. Great seafood, wide choice and good prices. You may also want to see if they, or another fish monger, could make you such a platter. It may save you a lot of time and effort. Though I imagine you don't want those oysters opened too far in advance. Good luck.
