A good first date place in Addison...

Not pretentious, not smarmy, not a steakhouse.

Lively without being loud with a good bar. Food need not be that great.

What I'm NOT looking for is Houston's, Chamberlain's, Ferrari's, or Jaxx and if you're advising an Asian place, which may not be a bad idea, give me a 2nd choice as well.

I'm a restaurant idiot when it comes to anything north of 635.

Second on the rec for Lefty's...fantastic casual New England-style chowder house. Order the half-and-half...it's half clam chowder and half lobster bisque served in a mug.

Mi Piaci, nice view, decent italain.

Ferraris, mom and pop type Italian.

Kennys, fun, a little louder but not so much you cant talk, broad menu choices, excellent food

All located around Beltline and the Tollway.

What about Lefty's for seafood or Andiamo's for Italian. My only hesitation about Andiamo's is that I really don't remember the bar, but it would be a good date place if a bar is secondary or if someone else can confirm the bar atmosphere. Good luck!

Sushi Robata- don't let the strip mall fool you, the interior is good for a date. Order the izakaya style items, or if you want sushi (not rolls), ask for Mori.

Might not be what you are looking for but Lavendou is on Preston. Very romantic feel to the place. Only been once as I live on the other side of the metroplex but remember enjoying it and I seem to recall there being a nice bar area.

I'm new here, but I have had 3 good experiences at Agave Azul, a stone's throw into Carrolton. Food is good, service is very good. Separate bar room is impressive. I'm past my dating prime, but this works. Also, Nate's is good cajun, but it is busy & noisy for a first date, bar is somewhat tacky.
