I will be traveling to the Newport area in July. Where are the "must go to" and local places to eat? I have seen a few posts about this but there are always so many places closing these days I thought I would ask for updated recommends. All price points are great! Thanks for your help.

We can't claim to know a lot about dining in Newport but we do know what we like. Check out the Saffron Salmon on the bay front. They do wonderful things with fish, by which I mostly mean that they let it speak for itself. There was one time when our salmon came out overcooked. They couldn't have been more gracious about letting us send it back. It was replaced with a much larger portion prepared perfectly to our request. now that's service!
Excellent meals, outstanding view and ambiance, short but solid wine list, pleasant well informed staff. All in all a great way to cap a day at the coast.
