Staying North West of Toulouse at the beginning of Aug--food and restaurant recommendations please

I'll be staying in Beaumont-de-Lomagne for nine days at the beginning of Aug and would welcome recommendations for restaurants in the area and also general food info. such as market days for local towns, best local produce etc. The nearest larger town is Montauban. I know that much of France closes down in August, so I would appreciate any help.

Well, there are some good restaurants in Montauban as well as a very good market.

The main market is on Saturday.

In this area not too many places close down in August. Its a holiday area & they tend to close for their holidays later in the years after the tourist season.

Can't give any specific restaurant recommendations as we live to the North East of Montauban so don't get over to the Beaumont area much. Try the normal guides & ask locally. Toulouse is not far & is full of great places.

Thanks for the info. Any specific restaurants that you like in Montauban? We're dreaming of the perfect steak frites and didn't find it last time we stayed here. Also, any fabulous bakers, butchers, trateurs etc? Thanks so much!
