Wife, son and I are staying in Downtown Atlanta for two nights. Need a good casual place for Sunday night dinner. Planning to go to Ecco in midtown on Monday, but just looking for good place (non-chain preferred) within walking distance of Residence Inn for Sunday night. Thanks!

It's a chain, but Ted's Montana Grill is about 4 blocks from there and is a child-friendly choice. I also have a 1-yr old, and I've taken him there. Azio might be another option, if your child eats pasta or pizza. I can't recall a kids menu, but you could certainly get a side dish of pasta or share your own food. And finally Meehan's pub - which serves lots of food so I wouldn't consider it a "bar" where you can't take a child - for burgers or fish & chips.

How about Zocalo, on 10th and Piedmont? Not certain where your hotel is, but it's a fun place. Covered patio, loud, with good food. Get the lava volcano thing with the meat and catcus. I haven't been there in ages and thinking about it makes me want to go....
