Rome, Sorrento, Capri, Cinque Terre

I will be in Rome for the first time as all the above. Starting September 18th .Travelling with three others I am looking for places off the beaten path that the locals would eat at. I want to go to the Jewish ghetto. I am learning Italian to help me read the menus. Also it's my nephews birthday when we will be on the isle of Capri. I want to take the family out for a wonderful meal with a great view. Ideas for Sorrento ? Also would like a place to watch the sun go down with a great glass of wine in Monterroso.
