Japanese in St.Pete- Tampa area
Sorry for the short notice but I'll be driving up from Miami with friends tomorrow for one day only. We are visiting the Dali Museum and Ybor City.
We are looking to do lunch before the museum. We are looking for Japanese (izakaya). We will drive within 30 minutes of the museum for great food.
Is there a better option for dinner in Tampa proper once we are in Ybor City?
If that's a better option than what are some lunch options closer to the museum? Seafood & vegetable options , specially if they are ethnic, are favorites.
The Tampa Bay area deserves it's own thread here on Chowhound. Doing a search was a nightmare.
T hanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hopefully not to late but Kinjo's near Tyrone is good in St. Pete and I've always like Matoi's on Dale Mabry in Tampa.

Can't think of any Japanese restaurants in St. Pete off the top of my head. I like Pincho y Pincho in downtown St. Pete for a tapas and sangria lunch...plenty of seafood and not-meat options on the menu. Cafe Alma, Gratzzi Italian Grille and St. Pete Brasserie are also very nice (all downtown as well).
For dinner in Ybor, I really like Bernini. The Laughing Cat, Columbia Restaurant and Sunday's Fine Dining are also solid choices.
Food pics and my personal reviews of all of the above can be viewed in my blog. Enjoy your time in the Tampa Bay area! :)
