Dinner July 4th...

rifkind81 Jun 24, 2011 02:36 PM

Any recs for dinner July 4? My plan was to eat dinner with my lady and then walk down to the water to see the fireworks on the Hudson.

I hoped to go to Balaboosta to give you an idea of my neighborhood/price range. I am flexible on cuisine and neighborhood (though nothing above 14th St. please).

I realized I neglected to mention Balaboosta is closed that night; otherwise I would just go there...

How about Recette? OpenTable shows they are open on the 4th, and tables for two are available at all times between 5:30 and 7:45.

Where exactly do you plan to view the fireworks? You requested nothing above 14th St but I thought the barges started around 23rd. Are they actually visible from near the Meatpacking District/West Village?

We like to go to Hudson Park down by Christopher St and below. It isn't too crowded, and you can get a great view.

We ended up reserving at The Harrison. We also considered Plein Sud and Scarpina.
