Salvation Cafe - reasonbaly priced eclectic American
Fluke - farm to table, trendy, small portions, you will have room for dessert on Thames

What is value? Cheap? There are plenty of those - Salas, diegos, Flos, yesterdays, aidans, brick alley, pourjudgment. None of those fall on my "one meal in Newport this weekend" list. I'm of the mind that at the lowest of low, yr paying $17+ for fresh fish. Chk out the menus of the places oft recommended here -- perro salado, salvation cafe, the mooring -- we can assure you the quality is there; value is a personal sliding scale. Those are my favorites. I like tuckers, puerinis and scales and shells too.
