World's 50 Best Restaurants...

FWIW, San Pellegrino each year publishes a list of what they see as the world's 50 best restaurants.

http://www.theworlds50best.com/awards...

Six of the fifty are in America, the top U.S. one is in Chicago and the rest are NYC.

None are in Florida. ;-)

The desert was really cool though, Grant Achatz (chef) makes it ON the table.

As my Dad used to say---- 'If I saw it in the street I'd walk around it'...

        Just joking, that's pretty awesome...

I'd like a video of me eating it with my hands behind my back...

I like the top 50 list, I've eaten at 11 of them, Alinea earlier this month. It was amazing but not worth the $.

Dayum...you sure get around ADT...that's awesome!

I have not eaten at ANY of them, although I have dined at two of the winning chefs' lesser restaurants...Keller's French Laundry and Ducasse's Le Jules Verne. French Laundry - not worth the $$$; Le Jules Verne - a life experience at any price (location, location, location). ;)

I'm quite shocked anyone considers the French Laundry a "lesser restaurant"! It was voted best restaurant in the world in 2003 and 2004, and has three michelin stars!

Simmer down...the post was tongue-in-cheek since it didn't make the Top 50. You ARE on the Florida board, after all. ;)

Also, I still didn't think French Laundry was ALL THAT. Sterile, hushed, uptight atmosphere with uber-pretentious staff at every turn. Yeah, the food was spectacular...but I guess I'm just not a fan of wading through pompous BS all night when I dine. A little is to be expected in a restaurant with this kind of hype, but I really don't want to bring along my hip-boots. I'm a hillbilly, though...I'm sure it explains a lot.
