Miami Restaurants HELP!

We booked a last minute trip to Miami and need some help with the food - Ocean Drive's restaurants all seem inauthentic and overpriced. I would welcome any recommendations on great places around the area (we don't have a car and don't want to travel too far) for casual good food that's not overpriced. We are staying at Hotel Victor so around that area would be great.

We also don't mind spending the money if the experience is worth it. Would love some authentic Cuban or Mexican recommendations but not limited by that at all.
Thanks for any recommendations!

I am sure that being virtually accross the street, someone will suggest Lario's. It is not bad, but Kinda Nouveau Cuban. Versailles, La habana Vieja (Coral Way) for restaurants. You can always walk up and down Washington Avenue and check the Latin Cafeterias. Mexican... Not the place. Cviche 105 for Peruvian in downtown Miami. Casa Vieja and El Rinconcito for Colombian. You will need to drive. South Beach is a tourist trap.

You don't need to drive to have good inexpensive food in south beach.

      Puerto Sagua

No Mexican - your best bet is bernies LA cafe for tacos but that is a pretty far walk for you especially in the summer.

      El Chalan -peruvian

      Milagro - dominican

      Keeses (get med food)

      Miss Saigon

      Otentic

      A la Folie

Alibi - great philly cheese steak (Dinner Only)
