Patio/Rooftop Terrace Bar recommendations

  • 6

Can someone recommend a patio and/or rooftop terrace (preferably with a view) for drinks (wine/cocktails) in the Garment District, Soho & Times Square areas.

  1. The View Restaurant and Lounge atop the Marriott Marquis (B'way & 47th) revolves, so you get 360 degree views. Good for drinks, but go elsewhere to eat.

I spent a very fun Saturday before Christmas at the View once, when I was staying at the Marquis for work. Great views around the city, plus the various scenes (dance floor, bands, buffets) in the middle.

I'm posting this from a completely different outdoor patio outside your radius at the W near Ground Zero. It's a weird scene, overlooking a giant construction pit, full of terrorism tourists paying their respects, with hip W music, and the drinks are overpriced, but it's awfully nice to sit out here.

    2. The rooftop bar at La Quinta hotel (in Koreatown) is a nice place to sit.

        1. The Metro hotel in the garment district has a nice, cheap rooftop bar area, similar to La Quinta, but a little nicer.

A little farther south, the beer garden on the roof of Eataly, Birreria is open, and they do serve wine as well. The wait can be painful, but starting in July they will take reservations for groups.

I went to a rooftop restaurant/bar called "PURE" in that area too but I can't find the location of it anymore, because of the ubiquitous name...

          1. Press Lounge on top of the Ink48 hotel has a huge rooftop patio with views of the river and the city. The cocktail menu isnt particularly creative but the patio itself is fantastic.
I think there's also a new rooftop on the Yotel hotel a little further south, may be worth looking into.
