Nice quiet place for drinks in Greenwich Village

Need QUIET place for serious conversation and drinks south of 14th and north of Washington Square...any suggestions?

The Upholstery Store is my go-to spot for quiet, serious conversations outside of the house. They only have wine, though, no cocktails or even beer, I don't think.

North Square's a good recommendation.

And another one on Washington Square: La Lanterna.

It is AT Wasington Sq. But the bar at North Square in the Washington Sq Hotel is a great place for conversations.
