Schnitzel on Staten Island

This schnitzel joint in a fairly ordinary little strip mall right off of Richmond Avenue serves an excellent version of the Israeli schnitzel sandwich. The bread is a little less crusty than it is in the Brooklyn places that serve the dish, but the sauces and fillers--pickles, lettuce etc, are good and the chicken cutlet is greaseless and pounded just right.

This is a very very busy place with minimal decor but if you like this dish that is a fad in Israel you will not be disappointed.

I saw that place the other day! And smiled at the name.

Must try the vegetarian things there...according to the online menu, they have falafel, eggplant and such.

You should be able to get a more than adequate vegetarian meal there.
