Goldeneye Pinot Noir

A friend just gave me a bottle of 2006 Goldeneye Anderson Valley Pinot Noir. I've done some research and the consensus seems to be this is a decent bottle of wine. I would rather defer to many of the experts out in Chow land, though. Any thoughts on this wine? Should I drink it now or can it go out further? Thanks!

Golden Eye is the Anderson Valley arm of Napa's Duckhorn/Parradux. Usually rather good juice.

I've had several tastings at this winery and have enjoyed their wines over the years. Since you didn't mention any specific vineyard, I'm assuming this is their basic, blended pinot (which I often prefer). From talking with the folk there, as well as looking at some reviews, I'd say this vintage could continue to mature over the next few years (assuming it has been properly stored). Because I prefer mature wines, if this were in my cellar I'd look at a 2013-14 drink date. However, liking young or mature wines is a personal preference--this 2006 should be drinking well now.

Good point about the vineyard, it's actually Gowan Valley. One review said it could even go out to 2016, but I don't think I can wait that long : )
