Recipe for zesty pickle spears please

We were gifted about ten cucumbers and I'd like to quarter them lengthwise and pickle them with a bold flavor and retain some crispness. We have plenty of garlic and hot peppers on hand, but can buy other bold seasonings. Can you please suggest a recipe?
