Rec for Quiet Bklyn Restaurant

Dining with older folks who can't hear too well - any recs for a more formal (and by that I mean not elbow to elbow) restaurant that is quiet *and* has good food? Open to all types of cuisine.

Also looking for good overall atmosphere ... outdoor seating would be nice.

No outdoor seating, but maybe Saul can fit the bill.

      Thanks, Miss Needle.

I think I need to modify my request. Perhaps not "New American". Any opinion on Convivium Osteria?

How about Bacchus? They do a good job with French Bistro standards and the garden is great on a summer evening.

Convivum Osteria is very good. Good noise level and spacing fror Brooklyn. - and you could probably request a quiet corner. Frankie's 457 would also be a good choice if you obtain a table in the garden.

We ended up cooking in (quietest of all) but will save these recs for next time. Thanks all!
