Eddie V's from Scottsdale, AZ opens in the partially torn down Chart House/Green Dragon Colony location on Monday at 4pm.

Didn't go last night, trying to avoid a certain PR Honcho on opening night of his client's place. Checking it out on Friday. I'll report back.

The Eddie V's in North Scottsdale (is it still there?) had an impressive happy hour menu. The atmosphere wasn't all that great but I think it's a good addition to LJ. Their seafood and meat hh specials were tasty. Will be checking them out soon.

Only had an after dinner drink tonight, but it is gorgeous! A little service hiccup, but I think that is expected on night 2.

The old Chart House location in La Jolla has not been torn down. It has been leased to the steak/seafood chain Eddie V's.

Yeah -- the old Chart House space is being completely rebuilt/renovated for the new Eddie V's. They're shooting for a July 25 opening.

According to the release I read, Eddie V's is a chain of steakhouses out of Arizona. Have not idea if that's true or not as I don't get to AZ very often.

As a former Zoni (I know...) I can attest that Eddie V's has no relation to Johnny V's or any other restaurant in La Jolla. I've always enjoyed their restaurants - good food, great service, nice atmosphere. (The "chain" includes Eddie V's, Roaring Fork, and one other I can't remember the name of).

And now, they are going to be part of Darden, so can consider it an upscale Olive Garden / Red Lobster / LongHorn Steakhouse.
