Headed to Alaska mid-late Sept

I was wondering if there were "do not miss!" recommendations. Flying into Anchorage but (within reason) "will travel for food".

I would really enjoy tips about places to experience real eats, nothing touristy.

    Maybe now plans firmed up a bit I can ask this again. Will be driving from Anchorage to Delta Junction (and back) Sep 23-27. Any places along that route that shouldn't be missed and will be open late Sept.?

    I will have dinner in Anchorage Monday 26th. Where would one head for a "first and only" (this trip at least) dinner in Anchorage for a unique experience . . .. of any kind?
