La Taqueria - 2nd location - Broadway & Cambie!

I saw yesterday that a religious painting was being sprayed on the wall of the now gone "Buddha Oriental Express" right beside Starbucks on Cambie. I said to my friend, "I wonder if we're getting new Mexican?" (I think in the back of mine I recognized the picture from the downtown location)...

Today as I walked by he was painting "La Taqueria" down the back side. So I stopped and asked him if it was the one & same as the one downtown. With a big smile, he said, "yes". Good news for this area!

Super news. The place is my team's favorite lunch place, and does a great job sourcing.

    2. Woohoo !!! Thanks for the intel, CK1234. Imagine, La Taqueria in my own barrio ;-)

      Adios, Senor Buddha !

Mid-July opening. Looks like this is one concept that will stick in this location.

There's an urban planning concept/term called "Transit-Oriented Development" (TOD) which has been increasingly applied in our region (and other metropolitan areas with good transit networks) since Expo Line began in 1986.

With the Canada Line, I hope to see more Taco-Oriented Development along its corridor :-D

      2. That is so close to my office - I can't wait! Now, if only I could convince my coworkers to like tacos...

        1. Great news - close enough to my 'hood to walk there. I'm so there!

          1. Good sleuthing CK -- I saw the Madonna going up, but didn't make the connection! That spot has had trouble over the last few years. Hopefully, La Taqueria will be there to stay.
