My friend wanted to take his French vegetarian girlfriend out. She wanted to go to L'Olivier, but Yelp gives that pretty poor reviews.

Does anyone know of an inexpensive French Restaurant with good food, fun vibe and veggie choices.

She apparently liked the Stinking Rose for Italian....

Also, she apparently does not drink (?!) so wine is not a critical factor.

By inexpensive I think they want to keep meal (they don't drink) under $100.

  1. In SF proper or elsewhere?

    1. I'd look into Chapeau's 3-course prix fixe menu for $35...see if they still have it. Decent veggies options.

Yes, Chapeau is wonderful and has a vegetarian menu. L'Ardoise is also nice in the same price range.

also the early bird special for even less.

although her liking the stinking rose makes me wonder if something else would be good...

      2. SF or the East Bay (Berkeley, Oakland). San Rafael or Marin works too....

Yes I wondered why they liked Stinking Rose, but she is actually visiting from France and craving French food....
