champagne punch?

anyone have a good recipe for an easy champagne punch that is suitable for a baby shower? looking for something easy but that won't pack too much of a punch (no pun intended).

    I love strawberries and champagne, and this recipe does the trick.

    Strawberry Champagne Punch

    12 oz package frozen sweetened strawberries (thawed), or more if desired

    2-3 cups cranberry juice

    6 oz fresh lemon juice
 plus one tablespoon granulated sugar, stir to dissolve sugar

    1-2 bottles champagne

    Ice mold if desired, or ice cubes

    1. Chill all ingredients well before mixing.
    2. Purée the strawberries in a blender.
    3. In the punch bowl, add the sweetened lemon juice, puréed strawberries and cranberry juice. Just before serving – add champagne to taste and float the ice mold or add cubes.

      My father once shared with me his recipe for champagne punch. "One bottle of champagne, one bottle of vodka"

        Just made this for my daughter's one year old birthday party and it was a hit and pretty to boot. I omitted the rum and it still turned out good, and not so boozy.

        Pomegranate Champagne Punch

        * 1/2 cup water
        * 1/2 cup sugar
        * 2 750-ml bottles chilled brut Champagne
        * 1 1/2 cups white rum
        * 1 1/4 cups pomegranate juice
        * 1 large lemon, thinly sliced
        * Pomegranate seeds
        * Fresh mint leaves
        * 1 ice block

        Bring 1/2 cup water and sugar to boil in small saucepan, stirring until sugar dissolves. Simmer 5 minutes. Cool syrup completely.

        Combine Champagne, rum, and pomegranate juice in punch bowl. Add enough syrup to sweeten to taste. Mix in lemon slices, pomegranate seeds, and mint leaves. Add ice block to bowl.

          are you planning to put it in a punchbowl? If not, how 'bout just some fresh peaches and a little sugar and water in the blender...maybe some bottled peach juice if you need to make a lot. Then just pour a bit in a flute and top w/ sparkling wine.

            Love the bellini suggestion - thanks to the others as well. Agree - all those liquors make me afraid it's a bit too boozy for a baby shower :)

              thanks. it was pretty big hit w/ my friends at a bridal shower. I also did it for my parents' anniversary party. (when you have 75 mostly baptist septagenarians at a party...low alcohol is a necessity) If you can find a beautiful glass pitcher for the peach stuff and put the champange in a silver ice bucket...it looks nice and festive on your drinks table, IMO.

            yes, I got it from Gourmet, I think?

            The day before the event combine a can of pineapple juice, 3 cups of Chambord,, 3 cups of Grand Marnier and 2 cups of cognac.

            Then on the day of the event add 3 bottles of decent sparkling wine, one liter of ginger ale and garnishes. I usually just freeze a bunch of strawberries and orange slices but you can make a pretty ice mold if you like.

              This sounds spectacular (and boozy, with all those liqueurs!)!!!!!!!!!

              My go-to recipe: If you have a heart-shaped cake pan, fill with water, add lemon and lime slices and freeze. Depending on the size of your punchbowl, add one (or two) large cans of orange juice, one (or two) large cans of pineapple juice, one cup Hawaiian Punch concentrate and one bottle of champagne. For a non-alcoholic version, use 7-Up instead of champagne. Stir well, place heart-shaped ice ring in bowl and surround it with scoops of rainbow sherbert. I'm always asked for the recipe when I serve this. It is refreshing, colorful and oh, sooooo yummmmmy.
