Does anyone remember or know what happened to "hy Tulips"?

a Jewish delicatessen with terrific grilled hot dogs located on 86th street in Bensonhurst. My college roommate took me there back in the late 70s and early 80s, introducing me to Brooklyn, Bensonhurst and some very good times. I drove down there with my son on fathers day bu t did not see it. Must be gone? Or, hopefully, I just missed it

Alas Hy Tulip is long gone. But boy that querie was like dipping a madeleine in a cup of tea for me.

You haven't been around in a good long while. That was such a great place. We used to take the B train from Park Slope to go there for the matzoh ball soup, potato pancakes and pastrami. Brings back memories of my brother too.

Sure have: family still on Bay Pkwy and 80th S and 60th and 17th. It was the only place my Sicilian uncle would enjoy the occasional pastrami on rye, or specials and beans.

thanks for the posts - much appreciated. Its too bad, I guess the place has gone the same way as glittering disco balls and bad hair - you should have seen me back then, I think the part down the middle of my long flowing brown locks might have given me away as the "interloping midwesterner" that I really was. At least it was not a mullet.
