Back Issues of Saveur?

Does anyone have back issues of Saveur? I'm looking mainly to acquire a copy of the premiere, but I'd be interested, too, in any other early issues from that first year.

I'm sitting here with my mouth hanging open in disbelief. I knew, I Knew I KNEW there was a reason to keep the first edition, and every other subsequent edition; mainly, 'cause I knew I'd refer back to them but even then, oh yes, even back then there was a little diamondlike glow of suspicion that someday, someone somewhere would want them. And now I hear they do. Well, my little darlinks....I kept them over a roughly 17-year span; through moves, and boyfriends (good and bad), through love affairs with other magazines (some kept, some not, but none kept like the Saveurs were kept). And now, nobody's getting 'em. It would be like giving up roughly several hundred kids at once for adoption.
However, I pledge that anyone here may, at anytime ask for any recipe, technique, thumbnail, or article and I will do my damndest to see that you get the information you want. But no magazines. Not at this time. :)

I've subscribed since the first issue, but haven't saved a single one. Phooey.

This site has it listed for $295.95 but unfortunately it's out of stock, as are the other 1994 issues.

Ebay doesn't seem to have any early issues right now either.

I wish I could find one too, #1 is the only one that I don't have.

Thanks so much for both of your responses. I checked Ebay -- nothing there, unfortunately. And I saw the listing on backissues.com -- too bad the issue is out of stock. Let me know if you find a source, pamf, and please throw any other suggestions my way!

Breezychow, any chance you'd consider selling?

I sold my first ten years of Saveur on eBay for $1k. That first issue is getting more and more valuable...

Shoot, I was forced to toss twenty years of Gourmet mags when we moved. I wish I had fought back harder.

Epicurious allowed me to hand it over to a higher power.

I don't know. Would definitely have to give it some thought. Out of all the cooking & gardening magazines I get, Saveur is probably the only one that I've received fairly steadily since its inception & still enjoy - thus the fact that I've saved all the issues.

Wow!! Nice to know. I was a charter subscriber too and have them all up until the new editor-in-cheif, James Oseland took over, and then probably a years worth after that. :-)

You may want to try Ebay, I've bought many vintage periodicals there, you can find pretty much anything.
