Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in DC/Baltimore and Suburban Virginia

A place to feed 95 high school kids/staff

I'm bringing 95 high school students/staff to DC in July for a 3 day cultural trip. I'm looking for a place to eat that can accomodate us and not break the bank and somewhere other than the Hard Rock type places. We'll be staying out in the Pentagon City area. Thanks!!!

  1. Pentagon city mall. Much to my dismay as a sometimes shopper during lunch, this seems to be where everyone goes and it seems to be a good idea for kids.

Also popular seem to be Buca de Bepo on CT Ave and Carmines in Gallery Place because they're big places and you can serve tables family style.

    1. Also, if you are downtown, they frequently seem to swarm the food court in the old post office building at 12th and Penn (sometimes I see the kids holding vouchers-- so perhaps there is a way to bulk purchase lunch for them, if you are interested in that).

      1. re: Doh

Or the foodcourt at Union Station. There are tons of restaurants in the basement, plus other spots like Pottbellies, Chipotle, etc. I think these three plus the Ronald Reagan building are cluster spots for big tourist groups at lunch time.
