Need Restaurant in Christiansburg, VA - in July
We'll be taking our annual road trip to FL this year. We are stopping in Christiansburg, VA on the way home and I need a good suggestion for lunch and dinner. I have the Road Food book but it is a bit old and has the names of 2 places, one I can find online, the other not.
I've heard of Dude's Drive-In and also a cafeteria called Stone's on Roanoke Road. I also need to know the hours. Being that it is the end of our road trip, it also has to be fairly cheap. I prefer places that have some history in the area, well loved local food.
No franchise restaurants or fast food (altho Drive Ins and Diners are acceptable and so is BBQ or Cafeteria style). Chinese is good too, as is Italian.
Any suggestions would be wonderful.

For Italian go down the 81 to the Ironto exit and go to Mountain View Italian Kitchen- can't beat the food or the prices.

Having lived in Cburg, I can recommend Dude's hotdogs. Don't do Stone's-not good. Between Cburg and Bburg is chain restaurant he!!.
If you want Chinese do Charlies on W. Main Street- no it's not on par with San Francisco or Boston Chinese, but it's good.
If you want something a little more upscale, go to The River Company Restaurant in Fairlawn.
It's a hop, skip and jump from Cburg.

I'm not familiar with Stone's. Dude's Drive-In is OK for the drive-in experience but not the best food of it's type in the area.
If you're willing to go a little further on 460, head into Blacksburg. If you want Italian, try Zeppoli's off of Price's Fork Rd or Sal's off of Main Street. For a really tasty burger, head to Mike's Grill on Main Street. Other personal favorites in the Main Street area right by campus are Sharkey's, The Cellar, Rivermill.
