Farewell Manhattan

I am leaving Manhattan's for good (relocating) and leaving its dining scene for good along with the relocation because my move corresponds to a needed lifestyle / health / special-diet change. I am posting to give others leaving Manhattan my take on the farewell-tour question and see if people want to weigh in on stops I should make during my last week in the city. My tastes are for cozy, hearty, simple and unless something is really good overpaying for it saps it of its power to bring me its pleasure.

Here are a few of the stops I have made on my farewell tour:

-Murray's for the cheese puffs
-Mark for Sliders (incredible and better with no cheese in my opinion)
-LaBurdick for Iced Chocolate (I literally could not sit still while drinking this because I was so thrilled by its deliciousness)
-Friend of a Farmer for an Omelet and Pancakes (most charming brunch in the city)
-Prune for sweatbreads and marrow bones and fish (simple foods done extraordinarily well)
-Bourgeois Pig for fondue, atmosphere
-Home restaurant for a charming outdoor dining experience in a fun part of Manhattan
-Cafeteria for Cocktails, Mac&Cheese, and the sheer joy of Manhattan interior designers gone wild
-Barbutto for JW Chicken
-Veselka for great soup and outstanding blintzes and peirogi
-[The meatball Shop - to see an up-and-coming food trend at one of its points of origin] [tomorrow]
-WD-50 for a desert extravaganza
-Peter Luger's because I love the feeling of my mouth being coated with animal fat
-Graffiti for excellent spiced foods and great use of manhattan spaces

I did one fancy dinner:
-Picholine for 16 course tasting menu. It was the best meal of my life (in this diner's judgment Picholine's meal exceeded French Laundry, EMP, Bouchon and Daniel]

I made three mistakes
-Donut Plant (a good donut but nothing I will miss)
-DBGB for Yankee Burger (I would applaud a friend who served me a burger this good in his home and that's the feel of the burger; a good humble backyard burger that would be a great chef's burger with a bit more careful seasoning, charring, or a chef's flair)
-Momofuku Milk Bar because I don't love sweats

I have never had in Manhattan:
-A sandwich in Manhattan to rival the Godmother at Bay Cities in Santa Monica
-A turkish restaurant to rival Oleana in Cambridge, MA
-An excellent thick and spicy Mole / traditional Mexican cooking is lacking
-A Morrocan Bastilla that I thought was outstanding

What no Greek food in Astoria? No bagels or bialys? I miss them the most when I'm up here in Saratoga . . .I have a bag of Kossar's in the freezer. Maybe I should toast one for breakfast to celebrate your change of scene. Be well :)

Yeah, I will miss bagel's at Absolute and Thai food at Ayada the most when I leave NYC in a few weeks. I am trying to plan one more high-end meal as well, and your list was very helpful.
