Lunch near Love Field

Driving cross country, seeing some friends as I do. I'll be having lunch with a friend who works near Love Field.

I've checked out a couple of threads already, in particular this one seemed on point, but more focused on dinner:

from which, after a little winnowing (e.g. Neighborhood Services appears to be dinner only) I see the following possibilities:

Celebration
Club Schmitz
Cafe Istanbul

Comments on these or additional suggestions greatly appreciated.

Up for anything authentic, anything with good bang-for-buck, pretty much any type of food. Much less concerned with ambiance than with finding tasty chow.

Lately, I've been touting Ming Place Chinese Bistro at Lemmon Avenue and Inwood Road. That puts it very close to Love Field for large servings of excellent Chinese food at ridiculously cheap prices.
I was very impressed because they serve Dan-Dan noodles.
The place is spotless with excellent, welcoming and gracious service.

If you are into cheese then Scardello would be right up your alley and not terribly far away from Love Field.

If you are looking for divey Mexican places then there is Escondido on Butler between Maple and Harry Hines. It is more Tex-Mex in its scope than say Tipicos

Tipicos I really like the refrieds and cheese enchiladas there. I saw that you are from San Diego so you might be good on Mexican.

Celebration for sure. I love club Schmitz but it's just a dive bar that serves burgers.

Go to Celebration. Food is really good, nice patio if you can stand the heat and mostly farmers market fresh produce. Authentic? Yea, authentic down home cooking. Haven't been to the other places but Celebration is a favorite of ours.

Skip the patio. I brunched yesterday at La Mansion, inside facing the patio, and all six parties on the patio moved inside. The heat and the wind are unbearably oppressive now.

Cafe Istanbul is a good choice. In the same shopping mall is Rise No. 1 - also good. And, probably equidistant (but in a different direction) is Seafood Shack on Webb Chapel (just south of Forest). I, myself, was not impressed by Club Schmitz - and I haven't heard enough about Celebration to make me want to try it.
