Denver Deli...which one?
I have reviewed prior posts and narrowed down Sunday Lunch to Zaidy's, Bagel Deli, New York Deli News or East Side Kosher Deli. We will be driving from Boulder to the Denver Airport and want to stop for deli before our flight. Are any more convenient than the others in light of our plans? Are any better than the others...they all seem to have their fans? Thanks for your help! Haven't been to Denver in 20 years and appreciate any comments.

The New York Deli News is larger and more comfortable for eat-in dining. It's not kosher. GIANT sandwiches!
Mike and Marcy Schreiber at East Side Deli in Glendale are kosher, and do more take-out deli trade. They are near the large orthodox community in Hilltop and Crestmoor, and when they moved to their present location about 11 years ago, the Eruv was expanded across Leetsdale ave. specifically to include their deli.-----

re: Veggo
Thanks everyone for weighing in. Jimmy and Drew's in Boulder turned out to be pseudo-deli...what you would expect if McDonalds opened a deli chain. Mediocre sandwiches, no chopped liver or kosher salami. I left before the post by Veggo and so ended up at Zaidy's. Great sandwiches on good rye bread, three kinds of kugel, chopped liver, potato pancakes that were excellent, matzo ball soup. It was good and real.

re: Tripper
That's totally bizarre... I haven't been to J&D's for a while, but I ALWAYS get chopped liver there (on the Chicken Lickin' sandwich, chopped liver and beef tongue) and I've been there for breakfast and had the kosher fried salami too. Maybe they changed the menu? Were they out of these items, or no longer serving them at all? Sorry the recommendation didn't work out; I'm kind of shocked actually. Most east coasters (including several Manhattanites) I've sent to Jimmy & Drew's have reported favorably, so I wonder if something has changed.

re: Tripper
Well, good to know. I guess that proves once and for all that Boulder can't support a real kosher deli - if they don't have chopped liver, they're no longer a kosher deli in my eyes. Sad. Trust me, when it first opened it was pretty great, but I guess I'm going to have to stop pointing people in that direction (unless they're looking for a reuben on latkes).

I agree with LurkerDan - Jimmy and Drew's is the equal, if not the better, of any of the other delis you mentioned, so since you're already in Boulder that would be my choice. Also, logistically speaking, any of the Denver delis are going to be significantly out of your way. (Look at a map - you basically go straight east from Boulder to the Airport, but a detour into downtown Denver would require a trip to the south, plus you'll have to contend with Denver's traffic.)

re: Tripper
Just curious... what do you find more "traditional" about Zaidy's, Bagel Deli, etc.? J&D's seems pretty authentic to me (H&H bagels, housemade corned beef and pastrami, chopped liver, knishes, kugel, etc.), but maybe I've been living here too long and have forgotten some of the elements of the real deal kosher deli.

re: monopod
Hey...it is probably me. Just can't recall the last time I was in a deli in NY, Detroit or Chicago and found gyro's, rotisserie chicken, anitpasto trays, and philly cheese steaks on the menu. However, with our serious deli jones we will be going to J&D's while in Boulder and then plan to stop at Bagel Deli for carry out on our way home. Wasn't trying to be critical...
