Santa Barbara Spot Prawns

Was wondering if anyone has seen these in the stores locally. The LA posts mentions seeing them at 99 Ranch. Thanks.

They were serving spot prawns [my first] when I was at The Fishery a few weeks back. Amazing. Crunchy heads and all. . .

Great Santa Barbara Spot prawn dish at 1540 in Del Mar ! The ultra fresh prawns were cooked/ baked in salt at 500 degrees. They come to the table mounded under the heated salt. Then you peel...dip and eat. Our group is still talking about that dish. Very cool and "hands on".

That salt baked spot prawn dish has been popular all up and down the coast for several years now. Even Chowhound made a video about it.

I saw beautiful, live spot prawns at The Fishery in PB last week. Not sure of the place of origin.
