Roasted Chick Peas/other beans
My latest food addiction is home roasted chick peas. After soaking the dried chick peas, I dry them well, spritz them with a little olive oil, salt and season them with garlic powder, fennel seed and smoked paprika. Roast them in the oven at 350 degrees for about an hour on a cookie sheet. Toss and mix them around about every 10 minutes so they roast evenly. I sometimes leave them in the oven until the oven is cooled down. The chick peas are light and crunchy--yummers! My question to you hounds is whether anyone has made these with other types of beans such as black beans, pintos, red beans. If so, let me know how you seasoned them and how they turned out.
