Best Italian Restaurant in NYC

I am only in NYC for 2 nights and one of the nights I want to eat italian. I would like the restaurant to have GREAT food & have a great atmosphere as well (Either fun or Romantic or both). The last time I was in NYC I went to Il Mulino and had a fabulous meal and the atmosphere was great as well. If I can't find any place that looks as good I will go again. Thank you!

I suggest you hit Babbo's bar seating (first come first served) early when they open. Always great food there.

You should go to one of Michael White's restaurants and order up a couple of pasta courses, as his is just simply irresistible. Try Osteria Morini, or if you want a classier environment, Marea in uptown then.

Scarpetta is also a great choice.

While I cannot disagree with the above, for me Ciano is the top Italian right now.

i like Maialino...i like Scarpetta even better (and a little more romantic)...both are fine yummy options...
