Traveling to Beaufort, SC looking for casual Saturday lunch place. We want to sit outside ideally near the water with a nice view. We will have an eight year old child with us. I would love something like a shrimp burger, oyster po'boy or similar meal with refreshing cold beer. We would like to eat in or near Beaufort as we plan to take a carriage tour afterwards. We will be eating at the Shrimp Shack later in the week. Additionally, any good food on or near Fripp? Many thanks! You chowhounders alway steer us to the best !

We had a very tasty dinner last week in Beaufort at Plum's and they serve lunch too. We sat on the back porch but there are just a few tables so you might want to get a reservation. If they are filled up or you can't get a table, there are several tables between them and the water, in the park that you could get food to go or bring food and eat there. The tables look like they are part of the restaurant but they are not. You cannot take alcohol into the park though. Plums is owned by the people who own Saltus River Grill, but a little more casual. We loved Beaufort. We also had lunch at Sgt. Whites one day(BBQ). It was good but not near the water.

Besides Plum's, Luther's and Panini's overlook the waterfront park with outside tables. They're just a few doors apart and easily compared to see which suits you best.
