best seafood restaurant in south street seaport or other NYC area...??

Hey everyone! For fathers day we want to take my dad to NYC to eat some good seafood.. I've been to South Street Seaport before and noticed how beautiful it is there. I want to know what is the best seafood place there for us to eat that also offers non-seafood dishes (mom and I are allergic). I would prefer to go there because of the nice atmosphere, but if there are really amazing seafood restaurants somewhere else in NYC, do tell.

  1. You might want to post this topic on the Manhattan Board. You have posted it on the New York State (excl. NYC) Board. Also suggest you do a search of the Manhattan Board using "seafood."

BTW, the South Street Seaport and FiDi are not known for their seafood.

    Happy Father's Day!

    1. I agree that you should avoid the Seaport if you're looking for good food. Aquagriill in Soho and the East Village's Mermaid Inn are two great downtown options. Check with them to see if their menus work for you.

      1. Oceana is our favorite fish/seafood restaurant. The food is superb (including fabulous desserts), service is friendly and attentive, and the interior ambiance is very pleasant. There is also a large terrace for al fresco dining. The menu includes options for non-seafood eaters.
