Kombu Ideas

I just bought a bag of Kombu sea vegetable to use in a bean recipe, but all I needed was a 3 inch piece. Now I have a whole bag of Kombu and I don't want it to end up in the garbage the next time I clean the pantry...any ideas on how to use it up?

Kombu is great cooked in with any beans; it makes the broth delicious and lends a lovely flavor to the beans,

I like to use it as part of my base for miso or dwehnjahng soup. Also great in udon broth and in fish/seafood jjigaes (Korean stews).

For more unconventional uses, you might try a piece in your bouillabaisse or cioppino to give the broth some more sea flavor.
