618 Festival - Breakfast and Late Night

Hello,

I'm coming up tomorrow for the 618 festival - looking for a good breakfast or lunch around noon on a Saturday in the city before we head in to the festival, and then very late night eats (3 am ish?) after the festival ends.

Usually I'm the first person to say "did you search the board" but I just can't find anything that quite fits the bill. Help much appreciated.

Thanks,

Options get pretty thin around here that late, but there are a number of options on South Street, all walkable from the show.

The closest place and only real restaurant option is the South Street Diner, which is 24 hours. It's passable (much better during day light hours). Lorenzo's Pizza serves slices until 4am. Barely passable IMO but can be satisfying. You'd be eating on the street. Across the street, Maoz Falafel serves until 3am, they have a few seats but it's tiny. It's ok. A block away, Jim's serves cheesesteaks until 3am and has a sit down area, but if it's real late they may make you take it to go. Again, it's ok.

You could always drive or taxi to Pat's & Geno's for cheesesteaks, which is open 24 hours. If you taxi, you might have trouble finding one to get back. Other diners that I think are better than South Street are Oregon Diner (24 hours, not too far by car) and Penrose (kind of far, closes at 4am).

Saturday at noon the city is your oyster... lots of great brunch places, any preference on location or style of food?
