Cooks Illustrated iPhone app: please help get it on Android!

Hi everyone, I've been trying to get people to help with this on another site, and someone suggested I also post here. I hope that's okay. :)

Cooks Illustrated has a really cool free app for the iPhone, but has not (yet) provided an Android version. If you are an Android user who is also a fan of Cooks Illustrated / America's Test Kitchen, please send them an email asking for an Android version:

(This is their official email for the app and it's posted clearly on their website, so I'm not giving anything away by providing this.)

Here's the link to their app site, so you can see what's included. Like I said, it's pretty cool. I think it would be a great tool for the kitchen and for when you're shopping for groceries.

  1. UPDATE: I've just been informed that this is in fact not free, it costs $36 per year. I'll leave it up to you to decide if it's worth it. (I already have paid access to the site, so I'm not sure now if I want this.)

Another update; site now mentions a "free app", and says

"For existing members, the Cook’s Illustrated app provides mobile access to all of the members-only recipes (including Editors’ Choice Cookbook Collection recipes), recipe specific videos, and supermarket ingredient reviews available on"

    2. I recognize this is an old post, but wanted to say that if you log in from a browser from an Android device (well, my Samsung Galaxy S3 anyway), you get basically the same thing as the iphone app and with option to view the full site.

      1. In reply to my own reply, I made the assumption that the app view from a browser would actually work. It doesn't, at least for me. Pages don't scroll. Full site option still works though.

        1. According to the website, it's on Android.

I don't see it. The magazine is available on Google play, but I don''t see the app. Maybe I'm missing something.

Oh, okay. Maybe I'm missing something. In fact, I know I am. I just misunderstood.
