Good place to celebrate/eat in Pasadena?

I'm taking a good friend of mine out tonight to celebrate her new job, but I'm not really familiar with Pasadena. Can anyone suggest a fun place with good food/drinks that's good for a celebratory evening? Nothing TOO expensive either.

Thank you!!!

  1. I love Le Grande Orange. Sitting on the patio, having some cocktails and wine, and a great dinner. If you like pizza, you could also try their pizzeria, that's attached to the building called The Luggage Room. Great artisanal pizzas and wine. Not crazy expensive but a fun atmosphere in both.

    1. I agree with La Grande Orange and The Luggage Room.

Yard House is not bad for a chain and if you go late at night (after 10pm), they have 50% off certain appetizers, pizzas, and sliders.

      Yard House
      330 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91101

      La Grande Orange
260 South Raymond Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91105

      Luggage Room Pizza
      260 S Raymond Ave, Pasadena, CA 91105

        Vertical Wine.

LGO's crowd/portion/food reminds me of an Upscale Cheesecake Factory.

LGO does have occasional interesting specials like lobster tacos. Luggage Room has cool pizzas. But I agree about LGO's portions etc. You can probably get a fixed price special of better food at Vertical at about the same overall price point as LGO. The thing is though with the portions at LGO, you can get by with just the entree. At Vertical, you'll probably want more than one dish. YMMV.
