Coming to Boston on Sunday for anniversary dinner with wife- thinking Mare 5 course tasting menu and need other ideas for reasonable chef tasting ($10-15 a course)

I am taking my wife to Boston this Sunday and wanted to take her to a nice meal. We have done a few different chef's tastings at Top of the Hub and Trattoria Zooma in Providence and enjoyed them. I was thinking of taking her to Mare for the 5 course tasting menu for $75 a person. I am open to other ideas, but don't want to be spending $100+ a person. She is also pretty pregnant (31 weeks) and finds it hard to wait until 9:00 to do the chef's whim at Craigies so that is out for consideration. I tentatively at a res. at Mare as of now but would be open to suggestions. We like American, Italian, seafood type of restaurants. Thanks!

      T. W. Food has a great tasting menu, 7 courses for $75. It is a bit out of the way (Huron Village neighborhood of Cambridge), but really good food, rivals the places with $100+ tasting menus IMO.

I did TW Food's tasting menu while hugely pregnant; it was a good option.

Lineage in Brookline has their lobster week menu up and you can have $1 oysters at the bar from 5-7 while your pregnant wife watches!
