From out of town visiting for the wknd.....We have reservations on Thurs & Fri night at ABC Kitchen & Babbo (10pm reso's), and are wondering what would be a hip, lounge-y type place to check out after dinner at these restaurants; anything nearby? Thanks

  1. You meant for beer, wine, or cocktails? The mods would prefer we keep discussions focused on food and drink.

Sorry - I meant places we could check out before or after our late dinner reservations - interesting cocktails etc

    2. ABC Kitchen is near Raines Law Room, Flatiron Lounge, Rye Craftbar, etc.
Some Tapas bars nearby, including one inside ABC.

Babbo is near 124 Old Rabbit Club, and somewhat close, Little Branch, and Pegu Lounge, Blind Tiger

For cocktail bars near ABC Kitchen, 2nd Raines Law Room and Flatiron Lounge.

sugartoof, I think you meant to write Rye House (Rye the restaurant is in Williamsburg).

Note to the OP: Craftbar is a separate place from Rye House and is more of a restaurant.

The tapas bar inside of ABC Carpet and Home is called Pipa.

I thought 124 Old Rabbit Club and Blind Tiger were beer-only, no liquor?

Babbo is not super close to any cocktail lounges but Angel's Share (no standing, no loud talking, no parties more than 4 people) and 1534 (fewer rules but also louder) are a short walk away, as is Pegu Club (if you go after dinner there will probably be a line).

Little Branch is nice, too, but note that it does not open until 7pm. A bit further west of Little Branch is Employees Only.

That's right. Thought I'd toss them in there anyway.

      2. Also near Babbo is the bar at Minetta Tavern. If you go after dinner, it wouldn't be as crowded as before.
