Where to find Flor de Jamaica/Hibiscus Flower in Houston?

Hi
I'm new to the Houston area and was wondering if anybody knows any stores where I can buy hibiscus/flor de Jamaica so I can make agua de Jamaica. I know Houston has a very large Mexican population so I'm sure there must be some stores that sell it. However in the past I have had trouble finding it in other cities even in stores that obviously cater to a Mexican clientele. Any help is much appreciated!

Fiesta has it, also small meat markets likes Celaya and Michocana have it. In the Caribbean, we make a similar drink called sorrel

I stopped at the Fiesta at Bellaire and Highway 6 yesterday afternoon. They had the dried hibiscus in the produce section . It was packed on a styrofoam flat about the size a small sirloin would come on. It was priced at $5.99/lb, and the flats were priced at about $2.50.

Both Fiesta Grocery Stores and Flores Spices on Airline has hibiscus.

        For sure.

          How embarrassing.

What I meant to say before editing mid-sentence was:

All Fiesta Grocery Stores as well as Flores Spices on Airline will have hibiscus.

You've got two hours from the time of your initial post to make any changes.

Believe me Lambsy, if I had caught that mangling of the King's English in time, posterity would be none the wiser...

Thanks for the help! That will be very convenient if all the Fiesta Grocery Stores do carry it.

Every one I've been in does. And although I feel sure you probably want to make it yourself, FYI there are also the instant Kool-aide-like packets you can buy for it and most of the other aguas frescas, too. The horchata is pretty good. I'd bet that's what most restaurants use.

Yeah I've had the little packets before and they're not bad but I do prefer the real thing. And I'm sure a lot of restaurants use those, you can usually tell just by the taste. Especially if you get something like horchata which is suppose to have that milky flavor to it and tamarind or other fruit agua fresca which is usually a bit strong if you have the natural kind.
